omg why don't u ever read properly and actually digest what is being written. really grinds on me. Ive gone through it over and over again and how on earth is it a feeble excuse that the man (Cantona) came captained the side to two doubles in his four years? and helped mould the young uns? had character not seen since Best and started Fergie's real achievements at old trafford? if thats feeble then we may all just give up now. |

Its a feeble exuse DUE TO THE DOUBLE STANDARDS. Now for someple who is complaining that others don't read that is a disgusting thing to go and do. You didn't read or digest what I said something I HAVE done with what you have said. You can keep denying it all you want though. |

You see how we played before Bergkamp? You see the transformation when Wenger came in? Bergkamp was the biggest change and even if the change wasn't as big it still was a change. I have done so but I don't agree so you think I haven't. You're doing something you and many others acuse me of lol. The hypocrisy is amazing at times. You also didn't say that before so how am I meant to read and digest something thats not been said?! I even had a little read inbetween the lines and even there it didn't get a mention! @ Dotty, nah I don't think they have. |

I'm sorry manu, but RVN is better than Cantona. Thats just y opinion but it is an opinion backed up by numerous other posters. A forwards job is to score goals and Cantona is a forward. Now, I know that stats don't show the whole picture but: RVN: just for United 150 goals in 219 games in all competitions: goal ratio is goal every 1.46 games Cantona: just for United 82 goals in 185 games in all competitions: goal ratio is goal every 2.25 games Van Nistelrooy will easily go down as one of our best ever strikers if not the best |

Wow I looked at the first link and there have been many more parts to this. SAF's best player in his 25 years - Paul Scholes |

In the same sense Cantona will go down (has gone down) in history as someone who reinvented United. Both completely different forwards who offered such different things so comparing them directly isn't fair IMO. Again IMO no player will be remembered so much and idolised after just a few years at the club. The only reason I left him out was because I felt leaving RVN out is a huge diservice. It was a tricky choice for me to leave him out as he's one of my favourite players of all time. |

I'd have him as 3rd behind Xavi and Iniesta. I still love the guy though. I'm an Arsenal fan and he is in my top 5 favourite players ever. |

but woody you rate Berbatov so highly. i respect your view but when u back berba so much i struggle to understand your point about forwards scoring goals. Cantona created and scored and was a huge personality and a leader/captain. he had so much to his game. and his style of play was mesmerising. |

I'd compare him quite directly to Xavi, both go around doing everything without anyone really 'noticing'. Think Xavi is the only contender to his throne, but I'd still say Scholes is better. Be it bias or seeing him doing it for 10+ years who knows. |

I don't think Scholes quite hit the level of Xavi 08/09 when he for me deserved WPOTY. Both were and are incredible though. I still think the Iniesta comparison can be made as he is a CM so he would be in the same category if you were to say who is the best CM ever. |
