i think he has cooled because he knows this time the buck stops with him it's his squad he has assembled and he can't blame a lack of funds if things start going wrong so he doesn't want ppl to turn on him for no reason |

Such a cliche! What would you regard as the 'next step' for QPR? |

survival-mid table-european places etc to my knowledge warnock has never finished in the top half of the premier league and he was at sheff utd for years and couldn't do it and don't give me that you need money to make it happen just look at tony pulis at stoke in my opinion warnock can only take a team so far cliche or not |

Stoke transfer arrivals Summer 2011: 11th July 2011 Jonathan Woodgate - 1 year deal 9th August 2011 Matthew Upson - 2 year deal 31st August 2011 Wilson Palacios - undisclosed from Tottenham Hotspur on 4 year deal Cameron Jerome - undisclosed from Birmingham City on 4 year deal Peter Crouch - £10,000,000 from Tottenham Hotspur on 4 year deal Not sure how much that lot cost, but the amounts are not insignificant, so I disagree, you cannot get into the top 8 in the PL without a decent amount of money. You will always get a surprise package that does it once, but to be an established top 8 team, you need more than just a good manager. 'Getting to the next level' is more about the chairman than the manager. Edited by The Plastic Flag, Nov 6 2011, 04:50 PM.

sorry if i'm being thick but i don't understand your point i said stoke have gotten into the top half without spending a vast amount of money woodgate and upson we're free and stoke balance their books well and have been in the prem for about 4 seasons now i guess and are now an established prem side |

My point is that Stoke spent somewhere between £15-20m this summer alone. They bought Kenwyn Jones last year £8m, so I'm saying they HAVE spent money. The interesting point about QPR and Warnock, is that their new owner seems willing to put money in for players, but he only came on board in August. Give Warnock another year, when he would have had a full transfer window with money available, then we can judge whether or not he has was it takes to make QPR and established PL side.
