 You're a hater, Saggy :p

Nah for real though, if all RvP did was wind up Krul about his time wasting, there was a definite over-reaction here last night. It's disappointing and I'd rather van Persie kept quiet, but if Krul is going to waste time during the game and then cry when someone says something to him bout it, he's pathetic too. And gdude probably said you lot are hating because no one was as outraged by Krul racing out of goal and up the pitch to start a fight, and no one mentioned the other Newcastle players trying to start one for only God knows what but people are quick to come on here and get on their high horses about van Persie. Bit of balance wouldn't hurt.
You sound like a Liverpool fan over Suarez here Stacie. In the last few weeks RVP has been acting as if no one is allowed to touch him and that he can do what he wants, from giving the winkers to Kelly to last night. You call Krul and Newcastle players out for "trying to start a fight" but when Krul goes to confront van Persie he's automatically outnumbered by about 5 to 1  You see Guttierez trying to get Van Persie out of the way and RVP slaps his hand out of the way and gives him the evils as if "who do you think you are touching me - I'm Robin van Persie." Then when he has a barrier of 2 or 3 players he starts waving his arms 'gesturing to the crowd'. RVP's had it easy for the last year or so with everyone winking over him, people seem to have forgot that he is a complete goblin. So yea, bit of balance wouldn't hurt.
 Please, no one here cusses out Arsenal players more than I do - and one of the first comments I made on here was to talk down RvP's behaviour. You're preaching to the choir here, I'm afraid. I'm just saying no one was chatting on about how the Newcastle players were behaving, were they? As for the Suarez comparison? Not at all, I don't even know where you dragged that nonsense from.

What pisses me off is fans complain now about this type of behavior but lets be honest all the top entertainers and performers over the past decade or so have been like RVP. The likes of Vieira and Keane for example, those days were the best in this league and those characters added a great spark to this league, they went over the top at times but what RVP did last night would have been nothing like some of the stuff those legends got up to. It makes the league way more entertaining and there is no way he should be ridiculed for it.

Why would we be pointing out the Newcastle players after they were reacting to a complete lack of class and respect from RVP? Krul reacted and went to confront Van Persie, then a few Arsenal players rushed to them before any Newcastle players do. The Suarez comparison is because it's clear to anyone with two eyes that RVP was out of order and in the wrong, yet you want the attention and blame shifted to other players for "balance". Not nonsense I'm afraid.

Yea I for one hope to see the likes of Busquets and Puyol running about in the Premier League acting like goblins because it's entertaining.

Hmmm. My first comment on here was 'I don't know what Krul's problem was but RvP obviously said something to him.' Your Suarez comparison IS nonsense because as usual I did not defend RvP - far from it - nor did I ignore his behaviour. Nor did I provide any excuses for it.

It was in fact one of the first things I commented on. I'm just saying, Krul and RvP got involved in handbags - and apparently had been all game - so there were no innocent parties. If you actually read what I am writing instead of going for the dramatic, you'll see that I am not calling for people to act like RvP did nothing wrong or shift blame on to anyone else. What if RvP was reacting to a complete lack of class and respect from Krul? Would that really make his behaviour any better?

Don't agree with that either, tbh. A bit of banter is one thing but it can get to a point where it's cringeworthy and embarrassing. The bulk of entertainment in football should come from the way the ball is played around the pitch.

Couldn't disagree with you more mate.

I honestly cant remember a single instance where Keane or Vieira ever goaded a player in such a childish and pathetic way. Yes i've seen them argue and squard up to players countless times they were fighting characters but nothing like that s**t last night. Krul did nothing wrong at all, he was slowing the game down to stifle Arsenal....and it was working.
I'm not saying RVP's behaviour was anything like Suarez but it was uncalled for and lacked class.

RVP was complaining about time wasting when the ball was in play! To stop this all he had to do was close the ball down....yes just get his arse into gear but decides to moan like a bitch instead. What next? Does he want them to pass the ball to him too?
I have nothing against RVP and would love him in a City shirt one day but he really let himself down last night and no-one wants to see that nonsense in the league....if you do mate you'll see all the s**t you want if you start watching WWE.
Will be keeping Cech in my pocket for the next 3 months. Thanks Pedro :thumb:

I don't think that reacting like that to other players' behaviour is good, personally. RvP may think he was justified because he felt Krul was taking the p*** but his frustration is not an excuse. Krul may think he was justified because RvP was mocking him, but his frustration is not an excuse either. He ran out of his goal to continue/restart the confrontation. Doing nothing wrong would have been holding his head up and letting it go.

Players should take a leaf out of Suarez's book and not react to someone blatantly trying to wind you up all game. Be the bigger man and walk away.

Everyone reacts differently when they are provoked and almost everyone including me would have confronted RVP Stacie. I know you aren't defending RVP but Krul did nothing wrong at all.
Krul slowed the game so Arsenal had less possession therefore less time to score goals. RVP wanted it quicker for the opposite.

I hate timewasters but it only applies when the ball is out of play really. In play is just controlling the pace of the game which although it is frustrating it is within the rules.

I think that once you get involved in chatting s**t with another player, and you don't let it go, you're no longer an innocent party. Both were involved in it, both contributed to the nonsense at the end. Think we'll have to agree to disagree here, Grampy.
