I went asleep at 2-0... I don't think I have been so close to crying when I woke up. forking remote has had it. Right across the room. Obviously seeing Downing credited with two assists had to be a dream. forking tramadol

hmm...

ok a nice long hard think about that... Football really is a 90 minute game and not a 70 minute game.

There is no doubting that the football we played was some of the best football we've played this season. The 1 touch passing, fast interchanging movement from the players was astounding. Whether that can be credited to how poor QPR were or just we were on it yesterday i don't know, but it was encouraging.

That said, there is absolutely no point in dominating the opposition if you can't put the ball into the back of the net. The amount of corners we had in the first 20 mins... something like 12 corners, and no goals. That cannot happen. Those set pieces have to be converted otherwise you get punished, and boy did we get punished.

Also i've been listening to TAW podcast quite a bit (well worth a listen, not all rose tinted glasses viewed fans, and they don't rate Charlie Adam too much either :cheey: ) but one of the points they have raised that they have noticed about us was that we have this tendancy to drop off from the opposition late on in the game and allow them to pressure us, almost inviting them to attack, and that is very risky. It's fine if you have a plan to hit them on the break, but the way we do it under Kenny, it's just hold on and hope for the win with some last ditch challanges/blocks etc... and that doesn't get you anywhere.

This point was emphasised more by the sub of Suarez for Carrol... i don't know what he had in mind with that. Suarez was causing their defenders to stay back and not allow them to advance on us. As soon as he was taken off, we invited even more pressure on ourselves and with no outlet to allow us to control the ball, we lost our way.

and a team that had been battered for 75 - 80 minutes, and still have something in them to create 3 chances and take them... well very frustrating.

You wouldn't have liked Kenny's post match comments either, we need more luck in front of goal... unfortunately there comes a stage where you can't just put things down to bad luck and have to realise it's a lot more then that.
