He didn't deny a goalscoring opportunity though so that's why he's gotten away with the red, dunno how he hasn't gotten a yellow at least though. |

You could argue (not very strongly tbh) that with the angle on the ball going past Cech that Terry had a slim chance to get enough time to make up the couple of yards and slide in to block the ball. Pretty weak argument but I wouldn't be surprised to see a yellow for that instead of a red. |

Did I hear that right? Spurs have been told that the ref cannot go back to show Cech a red card unless it is for violent conduct? That's just patently wrong, surely? It was clearly an advantage being played which means you have acknowledged the foul and therefore can just delay the punishment until the ball has gone dead? Think the 4th official is talking out his arse. |

So you can only go back for voilent conduct? Didn't know that, if that's the rule then good call I suppose. Don't agree with it though. |

You see hundreds of players being booked after an advantage for fouls in the buildup. None of that is violent conduct. Or are they saying that the rules governing a red card are different to a yellow? So you're better off doing something worthy of a red card if there's an advantage afterwards as you can't be punished later ![]() Forking stupid

Should have gone back and given him a yellow instead. Or, if you are acknowledging that it is a red card offense by not punishing him, you should give the other team's manager the option of a red card and a peno or the goal. |
