Well Sterling had 2 goals and 3 assists all last season whereas Adnan has 3 goals and 3 assists in 21 games this season, so I'm not sure what stats show that. But again, it shouldn't need stats for it to be clear that Januzaj is miles ahead of him.

Yeah, Sterling made the step up last season (a year younger than Januzaj). So while Sterling was emulating a 17 year old Giggs scoring a brilliant chip, most of your fanbase hadn't even seen Januzaj play. And now at the same age and a lesser squad role Sterling is outproducing him, offensively and defensively.

But Januzaj is miles ahead, yep ok mate

 Ok mate, we'll see what sort of teams are sniffing around both in the coming years. I'm sure Liverpool have already fought of the likes of Barca and PSG for Sterling :thumb:

We already fought Barcelona and Madrid for Suso, what does that prove?

There's no way you can call who is the better player right now or who will be the better player, nevermind claim one as miles ahead of the other.

But anyway, we got sidetracked. The Sterling example still holds up and if Mata starts performing as we know he can, we'll soon see that be the case.

Why haven't we seen it with Rooney performing as the best player the world's ever seen this year?

:S

Anyway, if Mata comes in it will see Adnan get less playing time (rightly so to avoid a Wilshere situation), I'm very confident that the standard and quality of his play won't dip.

Suarez was performing as well.

What I'm saying is that it's easy for a Januzaj or a Sterling to impress when the team isn't picking up enough points and they are surrounded by muck like Valencia or Downing. It's a different story when the team starts playing well and Coutinho/Sturridge or Mata/RVP come in. Don't tell me you don't see the similarities there?

Januzaj fully deserves the accolades he is receiving. We're not talking about a Cleverly or Welbeck who can't perform on their own ability, or wont get a look in with a squad of quality players. This boy will hold his own in any team and it's obv he wont look out of place with mata, rvp, rooney, kagawa around him. If anything, he will add to them, as much as they will him.

What he said. I think he is getting a bit over hyped because he is the one shining light in a pretty miserable stable at the moment, but he's comfortably the best teenager in England at the moment.
Trying to get an accurate picture of reality, even when that's unpleasant or inconvenient!
