Utd just point blank refuse to try and play anything through the middle.
Have to agree. There are options available as well.
I do think Fulham are playing their part in that a bit though. They are tucking their fullbacks in very narrow and almost inviting Utd to keep passing it out wide as they are confident of dealing with crosses. Utd are just taking the easy option time and time and time again.

Absolutely! You use your wide players to spread the play and keep the defence moving to tire them out and get them out of shape, then you play a quick incisive pass through the middle as they tire. It's pretty basic stuff but Utd just don't seem to want to go through those motions. They are too intent on trying to create a chance with every single pass and attack. They need more patience.
