Covering distance isn't the most tiring thing in football. It's short sharp bursts of speed while changing direction.

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship – and we will – success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once

Arsene Wenger leaves out his record 42.5m buy Mesut Ozil in the wake of growing criticism of his recent performances. The German midfielder missed a penalty in Wednesday night's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich and that appears to have been the final straw

Understandable tbh

You've answered the question yourself. He's just come back from a 5 month injury and has played the last few games. Hardly been easy games either. Liverpool, Bayern etc.....

Oezil needs to be benched. Talent, tick. Effort, not so much. More is expected of him so he does get more scrutiny but that is because he is a world class player. No excuses.
Goonie

He's been our best player recently. Would make no sense to bench him.

Stacie was saying he needs to be benched and he hasn't been. He's been rested completely for a game we should win anyway. That's a bit different to being benched isn't it?! He will be back, he hasn't been benched.

Jesus Christ, Treble. Just think first.

I didn't say he needs a rest, did I? I am simply saying why he has been rested. Treble, have you seen his distance covered in most games or do you want to continue guessing?
