Gerrard and Sterling played well. Johnson has been ok. Hendo pretty anonymous. Sturridge played as a winger but has got the goal in the end once Rooney was forked off.

Hogdson turned Rodger's Liverpool into Hogdson's Liverpool.

The two keepers playing at Wembley tonight came up against each other when Bury faced Shrewsbury in League 2 just over 8 years ago.

Henderson made the 2nd most passes, the 2nd most key-passes and had the second highest pass accuracy (96%)

Morten Olsen departs. "I wish you good luck in the World Cup," he says, with a big smile. "You need it."

I'd like to wish them luck in the world cup.

But then that'd be pointless, as they aren't even there.

And regardless of how mediocre we are, we don't have Bendtner, so we automatically win.

But we have Clev, which is probably even worse :liverpool:

Just a mention for Luke Shaw he looked pretty good when he came on. For me he has to go in WC squad not Cole. Baines is going to start anyway so there'll be much more benefit in having Shaw as back up than a disappointed Cole.

He's been brilliant for England for many years and well deserving of his 107 caps but he doesn't need to be taken just for sentimental reasons.

Lallana did enough to be included too, as did Welbeck he offers something new from the bench. IMO Townsend is struggling to justify a place, obviously he didn't get much pitch time last night but other than speed what does he really offer? He doesn't have the extra tricks etc and I am not sure his crossing is outstanding either. Better teams, like Germany did will nullify him. It's a pity because there is no doubt he helped to get England there in those last 2 games but I am just not sure he has a round enough, high quality game to justify taking him. I thought Sterling looked pretty good, has extra skills that Townsend lacks, the Ox offers a bit more creativity too, so I just see him getting squeezed out.
