I think people are being a bit harsh on Rooney. He's chunky and unhappy in a hot humid game, playing in a position he's not comfy with. It's a shame that the man is 29 and managers are still experimenting with where to play him at the highest level.
He should just be happy that he's playing. Seriously can't remember the last time he had a great game playing for England

I hear that but surely you have to put him in a position where he can do the most damage to the opposition. It seems like Hodgson has gone "we don't need you as a striker really but we'll squeeze you in somewhere". Is that really helpful?

Having said that, it's hard to argue against Sturridge after the season he's had too :S

John O'Shea syndrome. Not great anywhere, but can do a job in most places.
