Lets be honest if Rafa or Brenda done this you would be spunking all over it just now.
Nope. Interesting you say that though when you consider the fans defending it as a good move...
Ricky?
I don't think he was defending it? Just saying it worked in the end. He had issues with it.

But I'll bow out here as I'm not really interested in debating it with people who base their opinion on who LVG will manage next.
Exactly what you're debating it on, like Eck said if Brenny or Rafa did it you'd jizz at the genius.

Look it's a good call in hindsight, my issue would be that he was in charge of a team that had 2 hours to score and he didn't really change anything during that period

Rickys quote ^^

Well done Holland, Costa Rica take a bow.

I still think the fact the ref let Krul talk to and touch the Costa Rican players before the penalty was a disgrace and the whole fair play thing FIFA have been harping on about looks like bullshit after this, thats not good sportsman ship or fair play at all, total goblin move.

I think so yeah, Dancing on the line is accepted and normal yeah it has the same intent of putting the player off but its a ploy and doesnt actually affect the player all that much IMO, walking up to an oppenent, standing in their face and saying stuff to them and im pretty sure he shook one player by their shoulder before their shot too, I think thats crossing a line between putting a player off and intimidation tbh

Yeah I was wondering what was going on with that, tbf. It didn't look particularly sportsmanlike.

Like other people might think differently on the matter and thinks its a fantastic tactic, like Rio said he'd want his goalkeepers doing that but personally I think its disgusting, if people want this whole Fair Play and stuff to be taken seriosuly s**t like that needs to be cut out, a peno shootout is bad enough on players without some knobend saying s**t during the shoot out, whats the difference in him winding them up before the peno , which he was winding them up,because after one of the Costa Ricans scored he went over and said a few words back to Krul, but yeah whats the difference in winding them up before the peno and winding somebody up during the game which isnt liked either?

Changing goalkeeper for a penalty shoot-out is the action of a man who is happy to show his balls to his players.

“There is no question about who will start next game, it will be Cillessen. But we felt Krul was the better choice here.

“We told Krul that he would be a possibility for the penalties, but we didn’t tell Cillessen, as we didn’t want to ruin his preparation.

“We have practiced penalties, I believe when you’re used to a certain shot you’ll be more comfortable taking that shot.” - Louis Van Gaal.

Well, Cillessen knows now  Let's hope Netherlands have a sub left if the next game goes to pens or that might add pressure on him :S
