I always backed Messi as the best when people brought the Ronaldo rubbish up.

But he is a selfish little goblin, was standing away from his team and acting like it's all about him.
And he's a tax dodger.

Özil walked off and didn't bother applauding the fans when we lost 6-3 and Per had a go at him. Is he a selfish goblin?

Club and national team level are two different things. Ozil is very passionate about the national team, I hope with time he starts loving Arsenal as much as you and me do.

I doubt he is, it's his tax advisers that let him down.

Messi has been criticised by Argentina all his career up until the past 12 months for not caring and the whole time if you watched Argentina he has given 100% playing in a position which isn't his best. He'd have every reason not to care but he definitely does. Like BC said everyone reacts differently.

I don't think he really does. I think he sees himself as part of the whole Catalonia rubbish. When he talks about Barca you can see he really cares about the club. I never really hear much from him regarding Argentina, the only true Argentinian thing is his accent but the rest is Barca. He only wanted the WC for personal glory, not for the people or country of Argentina.

I don't believe that at all. He was asked to play for Spain and he told them he was Argentinian and would be playing for them. He's loves Rosario and Argentina. This is what I've taken from reading the Balague book about Messi.

What a shot game that was lmao

Messi was forking invisible since the group games ended I didn't see that happening a few weeks back. Literally didn't lift a finger the last 4 games he doesn't even look bothered. How in gods name can he not motivate himself for this game.

Quite a ways away from the tournaments best player,

agree,he rarely plays well for his country, thats why untill he does or goes to another club side in another country and plays the same as he does for barca, there will always be that doubt when comparing him to marradona etc.
i think overall in the competition the best team won IMO,couldnt believe argentina didnt even get a shot on target last night
