For me there is more importance in club football, I would rather Blackburn got promoted and did well in the PL than I would England win the World Cup.

Having said that, I do love the world cup. It gives me a chance to support players I would not normally have the chance to support

dont know how anyone can not like the world cup, besides the fact it fills that gap inbetween the PL seasons you do get to see some talent you probably wouldnt.
That's the perfect description of it (and the Euros). Fills the gap between mid June and mid July.

Thing is something that for many merely fills gaps between the football they really want to watch is what makes club football the pinnacle.

Serie A is on BT Sport as is Bundesliga and Ligue 1, La Liga is on Sky and now so is the Eredivisie. There are streams to the majority of games in the majority of leagues so if you're not getting to see some of the talent from around the world it's your own fault for not trying. The Champions League and the Europa League are on TV too.

It's only good beause it means extra football.
Not everyone has time to watch more than their own club's 90 minutes per week mate

world cup is a good excuse to watch a lot of football with other players and talent on show.

So what the fork do you think watching the World Cup took up?! TIME  It is not a good excuse. There's enough ways to watch them during the league season. Plenty of people watch at least 2 full 90 minutes a week and this forum is proof of that.

Honestly, you need to read someone's post before you respond sometimes mate.

I said 'World Cup is a good excuse to watch a lot of football' is that English too hard for you to understand? :S last time I checked 'watching a lot of football' takes up time so what the fork are you correcting and laughing about here? I'm lost.

watching a lot of football at World Cup time is different to watching a lot of football on a weekly basis throughout an entire club season.
I even find that many wives and girlfriends accept the Cup as a time to let their other half watch a lot more football, because its only a month long and they seem to connect to it a lot more when their country is involved and its not all about a club that doesn't hold their interest for 9 months a year.

Because watching the world cup also takes up time!!!! A season does last 9 months so picking a few matches out of other clubs a season shouldn't be a problem.

"I even find that many wives and girlfriends"

You replied to me, meaning wives and girlfriends are not the reason for the arguement of why it's a good excuse. Unless you replied deciding you were having your own dicussion.

With how long the season lasts and how many channels the football is on now you don't need an excuse. CL/Europe league offers great chances to watch lots of players too.

If it does come down to wives and girlfriends as i've said man up. If you're being told what you can and can't watch you're going wrong.

not as much time as watching belgium.french, italian, spanish, japanese, german, etc etc leagues to see a few players.
in the world cup you just watch bbc or itv stop trying to make out its easy to watch all these players, you may be able to watch them but without espn, setanta,BT etc you would have to trawl through a load of s**t on your computer.

Most of the belgium side are in the English league and a lot of the Japanese side are in the German league.

You'd see as much of those players by watching a similar amount of games in the leagues.

You don't get to see the likes of Meyer, Goretzka and Draxler play for Germany and they're bigger talents than everyone you'll see in the Japanese side etc.....

Exactly.

people like me in Australia, get 1 A-League match per week on free-to-air. no EPL on FTA, one champions league game per matchday on FTA.
and highlights shows of I think Serie A and bundesliga. and those review shows I dont think they even show them anymore.

so no its not as easy as some might think to catch that talent without wasting your time that you dont have, downloading a shiteload of football matches on the computer. thats just what I think anyway.

Pay-TV shows a lot but I dont pay the $$ for that when I can download all Arsenal / R. Madrid matches the following day
