Neville asked Carragher directly and he kind of dodged the question

I've seen the coaching drills Rodgers does and the defensive ones are very very basic compare to the attacking ones. Basically the defensive drills are theory based, so the players pretty much have to learn in game. Whereas the attacking drills are all manipulated practical exercises that put the players into situations they would face in game.

I can't understand how someone who is all about the modern game and techniques like Rodgers, can't simply apply the same thing he does to the attack to the defence. I'm not saying he can get a Mourinho level unit but surely it would be simple enough to get a respectable defence

Tottenham head into this cup tie unable to call upon the services of forward Emmanuel Adebayor, with the Togo international still missing on compassionate grounds.

Other than that Pochettino has no new injury worries to concern himself with following the club’s weekend victory at the Liberty Stadium.

Newcastle, though, travel to the capital without a number of injured first-team regulars, including the likes of Tim Krul, Rob Elliot, Mehdi Abeid, Rolando Aarons, Ryan Taylor, Siem de Jong and Gabriel Obertan, while Daryl Janmaat is suspended.

But Pardew can welcome back the key duo of Steven Taylor and Moussa Sissoko after recent bans though.

Rumoured team for tonight

Jones

Skrtel Toure Lovren

Henderson Lucas Gerrrard Moreno

Markovic Sterling Lallana

It will be really disappointing if Sakho and Can are ignored again. At least Markovic will get a chance
Confirmed team

Jones
Skrtel Toure Lovren
Henderson Lucas Gerrrard Markovic
Coutinho Lallana
Sterling

He's obviously seen Monty talking about being too attacking and thought I'll show you. Out goes the LB and in comes another AM

Bournemouth have scored the most goals in England this season. They won't be shy attacking us

Absolutely shocking again

The fact he isn't picking can moreno and manquillo is pretty much showing he is having issues with the committee. Can should be forking playing it's a joke

If he is refusing to play them get rid of him or them.

What happened to Sterling being fatigued? Hasn't he played pretty much every single game since then?
