Five wins in a row for United which looks far better on paper than how the team have looked on the pitch.

Liverpool have only won 3 away games in the league this season, losing the other 4.

United have only dropped two points at home this season, the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

A win for us here will put us 10 points ahead of Liverpool and for me all but cement our place in the top 4 at the end of the season.

Question for Lfc fans- win tonight or Sunday? Tonight for me, rather qualify for the CL than beat the 7th best team in the Prem last season!

@Carra23 what if you lose both? Just a thought.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is in contention to face Manchester United on Sunday as he steps up his recovery from a groin injury.

Balotelli is back in full training after a six-match absence, sources have told ESPN FC.

The 24-year-old has not played since the 2-1 home Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Nov. 8, and his injury forced him to pull out of the Italy squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia eight days later.

But he has a chance of being involved at Old Trafford, where he scored twice in a 6-1 Manchester City victory on his last visit in October 2011.

if he starts, liverpool will not lose :thumb:

I am going to this game :D . I watched us get trounced last season on TV and I feel United owe their fans for that game, I know Liverpool will raise their game for United. I never count chickens but I am feeling reasonably optimistic, a win for United and I also feel a top 4 place should be very realistic.

Overall there hasn't been instant magic with United this season, and for the record United have dropped 5 points at home this season (not 2) - we lost the opener against Swansea, :( however I do believe we are starting to play better (recent away games excepted), Liverpool are struggling ATM and it's at OT.

Hence the cautious optimism. ;)

We should go all out for this, try and hurt liverpool. We all know that form counts for nothing in this one though, liverpool will be well up for it but United should certainly win by a few goals.

If we had Sturridge I'd be very confident of getting a couple of goals. As it stand though I'd take a draw all day

The fact that you would take a draw says everything about where Liverpool is ATM. Last season United were embarrassing it was painful to watch, I want United to be up for it more than Liverpool and get some redress for the pain they caused us last year.

As the Sicillian says though United should be trying to hurt Liverpool because a convincing win will lift us and knock you. Chelsea and City are the best two teams in PL this season but with Liverpool and Arsenal faltering, third place is up for grabs, a convincing win on Sunday and it should look a whole lot better for us.

We play Arsenal after. Two losses and top four is pretty much secured. Yourselves and Arsenal cannot let that opportunity slip

A tough one to call. Manyoo are on a good run results wise, but their performances have been pretty pants! Whereas Liverpool's performances and results have been equally pants.

Manyoo are at home, so I'm going for a home win.
Trying to get an accurate picture of reality, even when that's unpleasant or inconvenient!
